Vision Day 2018

Macclesfield Town Hall will host Macclesfield Eye Society’s fourth annual sight loss support exhibition and workshops event, Vision Day 2018, on 4th May, featuring:

  • Sight loss advice
  • Exhibition Hall
  • Presentations and Workshop
  • Visual impairment support, equipment and independence specialists
  • Grand Draw
  • Refreshments

The event will open at 10am and will close at 3.30pm.  It is free and you do not need a ticket – just drop in on the day.



At our 2017 Vision Day Exhibition

Over 115 people were in attendance at the information and advice day for visually impaired people, alongside the Mayor of Macclesfield, Cllr Alift Harewood-Jones and her consort, Mr Peter Jones, the Deputy Mayor of Cheshire East, Cllr Arthur Moran and the Deputy Mayoress of Cheshire East, Mrs Carole Thomas.

Vision Day exhibitors included Macclesfield Eye Society, Macclesfield Talking Newspaper, Vision Aid, Synapptic, Citizens Advice Bureau, Optelec, RNIB, Sight & Sound, The Stroke Association, the Rotary Club, Blind Veterans, Cheshire East Constabulary, Home Instead, Jarikk Staffs, Carers Trust, British Wireless for the Blind, Henshaws, Disability Information Bureau, IRIS, Jobling Gowler, the Macular Society, Cheshire East VI Team, Talking Therapies, One You, Humanware, Associated Optical, Dolphin and Baum UK.

Workshops on the day covered advice on legal services, the Macular Society’s Skills for Seeing session, Macclesfield Eye Society’s services, support available from Cheshire and Warrington Carers Trust and a session led by RNIB on the visual accessibility of smartphones and tablets.
