Our central office at 15 Queen Victoria Street includes a Resource Centre where we can show you various equipment to help you live independently. Including talking clocks and watches, liquid level indicators, over-glasses sunglasses, magnifiers, large lined notepads and lots of electronic magnifiers and technical equipment to make life easier. Drop in to the resource centre to see the range of equipment we have here and talk to us about other products that may be able to help you.
Technology and IT
Our IT Support volunteers can help with your computer challenges at home, or get in touch to arrange 1-1 support at our Resource Centre in Macclesfield. We also run Introduction to Technology sessions – these are taster sessions to give people an idea of what technology is available to support people with sight loss, and what it can do to help. This will include how to make tablets, iPads and phones work for you using magnification and speech functions through the accessibility features already part of the technology. You don’t have to have a visual impairment to attend these courses. Contact us for more information, support and advice – or to register to attend the next Introduction to Technology session.
